Folate - serum
REQUESTING AND COLLECTING

Ordering:
For outpatient samples serum folate is the recommended tests for

assesment of folate deficiency. Testing should only be requested in the

setting of possible folate deficiency including patients with

malabsorption conditions, macrocytic anaemia or coeliac disease.

NOTE: Assay restandardised about the 2nd Spetember 2018 - Results

near decision point ~15% higher. Reference interval has been adjusted.
