GENERAL INFORMATION

Availability:
Test performed Weekly

Reference Intervals:
Suggested therapeutic range for a sample collected just before next

dose (trough) is 25 - 50 mg/L. This generally ensure the peak

concentrations remain below the established toxic concentration of 100

mg/L. However if trough concentrations are <25 mg/L suggest

collecting a peak sample (within 10 minutes of the end of the infusion).

Collect by venepuncture from opposing arm to where dose was

administered to ensure blood is not contaminated with the infusion

solution.
